Kevin Hollis

Dr Kevin Hollis loves learning. He just can't stop himself. As a result he currently holds an Honours and Masters degree in Physics, a PhD in Biophysics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Opera.

He particularly enjoys exploring the colliding worlds of science and theatre, bringing his skills training presenters and developing science shows in Techniquest, Cardiff for two and a half years until the birth of his twin daughters. He is well known in the science communication world for his workshops on voice and physical skills for teachers and communicators.

His initial foray into hands-on learning was at The Exploratory in Bristol, where he wrote and developed shows with mentoring from experienced hands like Dr Mike Coles. After the closure of The Exploratory in 2000, Kevin was one of our first presenters and worked with Explorer Dome for 4 years, confirming that this was indeed a fun life to lead.

He is now back on board with Explorer Dome part-time while his twins prove what he already knew.... that learning about the world is really fun, especially when it's all fresh and new !!

He also manages to keep his singing whistle wet in the a cappella ensemble 'Nota Bene' and the occassional opera role when time allows. Kevin and Heidi Hollis run Stage Coach South West - singing, acting and dance classes for young people interested in the performing arts.
