Explorer Dome : Rocket Science

"This IS Rocket Science"
An interactive show for up to 60 KS2 or KS3 students.

Introducing the fantastic forces of Rocket Science. Explore the pushes and pulls powering rocket balloons and balloon cars, discover the difference between rockets and jets, surprise yourself with the speed of a rocket propelled by simple air pressure and go out with a bang as we introduce chemical combustion... The sky is NOT the limit!

“3-2-1 lift off”
Workshops for groups of up to 30 KS2 or KS3 students.

Design, make and launch your very own rockets, with the expert guidance of Steve Shapland. We will investigate how air rockets and water rockets differ (bring your raincoat!) before splitting into small groups to build our own. An outdoor area will be required to fire the rockets as missiles, before we adapt our designs to improve performance.
