Welcome to Explorer Dome!
Explorer Dome is an internationally known, vibrant and popular science outreach organisation.
Based in Bristol and Stratford, we travel across the UK and beyond with interactive, curiosity-based, science shows and experiences for schools and special community events. Hands-on demonstrations and stunning visuals combine with friendly and professional presenters.
Explorer Dome is presenter-led, lively, interactive and fun to help children - young and old - get hands-on with science!
Explorer Dome specialises in travelling to all areas of the UK - no island or area is too rural or remote! And as we come to you, it keeps costs and logisitcs low while providing a fully immersive science experience for your group.
Find out how it works here and please don't hesitate to get in touch directly with any queries.
Explorer Dome brings science alive to over 70 000 children and adults every year!
Over the years we've visited nearly 8000 venues, met over 1 million children and loved every minute!
Different science topics
We have a variety of shows that cover aspects of physics, chemistry, biology, environmental sciences and engineering. Our shows are truly cross-curricular, designed to support and enhance science learning at all key stages.
Shows for your audience
All our shows are led by enthusiastic, talented and fun science presenters who work with toddlers, schools groups, families and specialist adult audiences. We have the experience to tailor the sessions for the distinct age, interests and abilities of your group.
Travelling throughout the UK
Based in Bristol for the South West, and Stratford for London and the South East, we also regularly visit schools from the Midlands down to the very tip of Cornwall, from Pembrokeshire across to East London, and we also ferry and fly our equipment to the islands and across to Europe and beyond!
Established in 1998!
Our signature, effective approach is hands-on and interactive.
We have been around for a while and continue to grow, with new shows and innovation each year. Our main approach is also tried and tested, supporting confidence and enjoyment in science for all students, particularly those who don't feel that science is 'for them'.
